Terms of Service.
Here are our standard policies and conditions regarding cancellations, rebooking and postponements.
Freediving Courses and Sessions
Freediving Terms of Service
A lot of work goes into preparing our sessions and courses in order to offer you the best and safest experience. Payment is needed In order to secure your booking.
For sessions:
This payment is refundable until 48 hours before the start time of your session. After this 48 hour period, your payment is non refundable.
For courses:
If you’re not able to attend the course that you’ve booked you can reschedule without any fee as long as you give us at least 7 days notice.
If you cancel your course within 7 days of the course commencement date then we can rebook you for a future course for a R1000 ZAR rebooking fee. We cannot issue any refunds.
To reschedule, send an email to argonautscience@gmail.com, please include your name and the date of the session / course you were booked for. You’ll be able to choose any available session / course times from the ones on our website. Dates and times are subject to availability.
Sometimes we might need to postpone or relocate your session or course.
We will do this if conditions are not safe or suitable for our activities (e.g. due to weather).
If a course or session gets rescheduled, relocated or postponed by Argonaut Science, we will offer a number of alternate available locations and/or times for you to join us.
If you are not able to make it to any of these alternative times and/or locations, then you will be entitled to a refund of your session / course payment. If you have already started your course (completed any practical sessions), we will refund you pro rata for any sessions that you miss.
Please note that once you activate your access to online learning (e.g. Molchanovs or PADI eLearning), any costs related to this are not refundable.
We recommend you bring your own gear to the course or session.
If you do not have your own gear, we can provide it for you. The cost of the gear hire is included in the cost of the course or session.
You will need:
A wetsuit
Fins
A mask and snorkel
A weight belt
Weights
It is your responsibility to return all your hire gear to your instructor at the end of each session.
If you loose or damage any of the rental gear, the following general charges apply (ZAR):
Wetsuit: R2000
Fins: R600 per fin
Mask: R600
Snorkel: R300
Weight Belt: R200
Weights: R100 per weight
Media Policy
Any media (pictures, videos, recordings of any kind) will only be shared publicly with the prior permission and adequate acknowledgment of the people directly featured in the recordings (to the best and most reasonable ability of Argonaut Science staff given that some recordings may be done in public spaces).
The reason for recording any media will be made clear before recording - it will most likely be for the direct benefit and personal use of the client, e.g. for teaching purposes or as memory highlights of a service experience.
Media taken for social publication, marketing and advertising, may only be released with express permission of individuals featured in the media. A written account of this permission is recommended (email or WhatsApp is acceptable).
We follow the The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) (https://popia.co.za/)for data protection and privacy.
Any media (pictures, videos, recordings of any kind) should only be taken with the prior permission and adequate acknowledgment of the people directly featured in the recordings.
The reason for recording any media should be made clear before recording.
Media taken for social publication should be acknowledged accordingly. For example, to acknowledge Argonaut Science on Instagram, use "@argonautscience"(https://www.instagram.com/argonautscience/?hl=en).
