Upon successful completion, you will become an AIDA Professional Safety Freediver certified to:

Provide safety at AIDA depth events limited to 80m depth announcements

Provide safety at a maximum depth of 20m with a 20" standby time

Preliminary Schedule
DAY 01 Comprehensive Theory, Technical Pool Session - Sea Point Pool
DAY 02 Depth Team Rotations (Team A & B) and Advanced Theory - Blue Rock Resort
DAY 03 In-depth Video Analysis and Advanced Depth Rescue Scenarios - Blue Rock Resort
DAY 04 Mock Depth Competition and Professional Debrief - Blue Rock Resort
Prerequisites

Certification: Must hold an AIDA2 Freediver certification or a recognized equivalent.

Age: You must be at least 18 years old.

Documentation: Completion of the AIDA Medical and Liability Release forms.

Be willing to work in a team and have satisfactory communication skills.

Physical requirements:

35-40m CWTB
-
30m dive + 30” surface recovery + 20m dive
-
20m dives with 3-5” notice, at fast pace (early turn simulation)

Experience: While the standards generally require previous AIDA competition experience, our goal is to build local team capacity from the ground up. Participants will have opportunities to serve as safeties in upcoming competitions in South Africa.
